Anchor of Memory is an interactive installation that explores the experiences of people who can no longer return to their childhood homes. Presented within a cosy living room setting, the coffee table becomes an interactive map where personal memories come together in a shared visual map.
The interactive experience was developed using TouchDesigner, Adobe Illustrator, projection mapping, and Arduino.
PROCESS
Participatory research was conducted to extract the input for the map. The participants wrote and drew their memories from those places on accordingly designed sheets. These memories were then translated into a visual mapping system, with each location positioned in relation to the world map.
One colour - one person, one location - one memory.
